They’re the heroes working to end homelessness among veterans. We’re just helping.

For many veterans, the reality of becoming homeless is all too real. With the help of Veterans Community Project, that reality is changing, and CreativeOne is proud to partner VCP as part of our Creative Cares initiative.

For starters, we sponsored a two-by-four wooden plank that will become part of the boardroom table at the Veterans Community Project Outreach Center, and our sponsorship money will be used to help provide services, such as free bus passes or tiny homes, to local veterans. The plank was designed by CreativeOne employees Lauren Lawson and Wayne Burr.

“Veterans Community Project is a privately funded organization, and we could not do what we do without the support of great partners like CreativeOne. Both the volunteer time and financial donations are critical in helping us toward our mission of ending veteran homelessness,” said Brandonn Mixon, Veterans Community Project Co-Founder.

Veterans Community Project is determined to make a difference in the lives of homeless veterans and is building a specialized community of tiny homes and onsite services to provide housing stability and to address the underlying causes of veterans’ homelessness. Throughout the last two years, CreativeOne has had volunteers help on the actual construction of tiny homes, assist in assembling marketing materials for VCP, and conduct an annual hat-and-glove collection drive.

The employees donate time, goods, and money, and are excited to be a part of such a great local cause. CreativeOne is proud to serve the Kansas City’s veteran community in those ways.”

Creative Cares, CreativeOne’s in-house charity committee, focuses on the company’s charitable presence in the community and holds various fundraising events and activity-themed competitions throughout the year in order to give back to charities in the metro area that need assistance.
