Effective January 1, 2016, a new Connecticut bill (Public Act 15-236) signed by the governor addresses various challenges and issues when it comes to elder abuse within the state.
This bill also now mandates certain individuals within the insurance and financial industries must partake in additional training in elder-abuse detection. As a licensed producer in Connecticut, this required training affects you.
As carriers roll out this announcement, there may be additional individual requirements that go along with the mentioned training, including some means of tracking your completion of the training.
We wanted to notify you of this new law and suggest you watch for other carrier requirements that may come your way. Completion of this training is required by June 30, 2016.
