How much can be packed into a day-and-a-half training event? Attendees of Learn to Earn 2013, held October 2-4 in Overland Park, Kansas, discovered enough new ideas, operational tips and inspiring words to soar to new heights.

The event kicked off in an exciting manner. After months of anticipation and just hours before the start of Learn to Earn, Creative Marketing President Mike Tripses and CFO/COO Will Moneymaker became the official majority owners of the company they have led for more than a decade. During the event’s opening session on Thursday morning, Mike announced the company’s independence from carrier ownership.

Following Mike’s welcome, keynote speaker and fighter pilot Anthony “AB” Bourke explained how the disciplined habits he used during his thousands of missions, including scheduled briefing and de-briefing sessions, can bring efficiency and increased production to an agent’s business.

On Thursday afternoon, successful producers shared sales ideas their colleagues can use to boost fourth quarter sales and beyond:

On Friday morning, Business Consultant Kelli Cruz provided instruction on key human resources topics. Author and Sales Coach Don Spini capped off the event by asking, then answering, one of the most important questions for a producer’s success: “Why do people say no, when they should by all reason and logic, be saying yes?”

We thank our sponsors for their support and presence at the event: National Western, Fidelity Guaranty Life, American Equity, Lincoln Financial Group, Athene Annuity, Great American Financial Resources, North American Company, Security Benefit, AXA Equitable, Allianz and Fore Thought.

Two attendees, Len K. and Halla N., won iPad Minis by visiting each of the sponsors’ booths set up in the Exhibit Hall and entering into a drawing.

The presence of “AB” Bourke inspired producers to compete in a Military Style Mission contest on a flight simulator at the Creative Marketing exhibit booth. We crowned the first-ever “Top Gun” of Learn to Earn, Nathan C., who also won $600.

While not every attendee took home a valuable prize, agents and advisors who invested the time and money to attend Learn to Earn 2013 brought home invaluable knowledge to fuel their businesses for peak performance.

Thank you to everybody who took the time away from their busy schedules to attend Learn to Earn and also to those who filled out Creative Marketing’s survey.

We hope to see even more producers next year!
